The Girl Who Fell From the Sky
BackMembers of our International Book Club have been working on a project to create a story which now comprises 12 chapters. Each of these chapters are now being translated into a different language with the help of students and their knowledge of language. This aligns with the IB as we aim to collaborate with the Art Department to illustrate the story, DT to help set the book using desk top publishing, and Business Studies to market our creation. This will tie numerous subject areas together to work on one project and create an interdisciplinary product from the collective work of students.
We would appreciate any help with checking the grammar of the translations before we set the book ready to print. If you think you may have the skills and expertise, or know someone who might be willing to help, then please get in touch with our Librarian at info@skinnerskent.org.uk. Each chapter is around 500 words.
The languages the students have chosen are Traditional Chinese, Italian, Spanish, Ukrainian, Portuguese, German, Dutch, Indonesian, Slovakian, Russian, Thai and French.
