Duxford Air Show
BackDuxford is a former RAF site that played a leading role in some of the most dramatic days in 20th century history, serving as a base for many of the Spitfire and Hurricane pilots during the Second World War. Some of our cadets were lucky enough to attend an air show there on Saturday to celebrate the iconic aircraft of the Second World War. The show included a mock dog fight, a B17 Flying Fortrress and Lancaster flight and the ‘big wing’ of 12 Spitfires in formation. There was also a demonstration of the new F35 Lightning II and the RAF Typhoon Display team.
As well as the air displays, there were a range of static displays, stalls and activities, including an Airfix building stand where many of our cadets were able to build a model that they were able to take home.
